Beneath and Beyond: Seismic Sounds

Screening at Filmhouse
9th July at 10.30am

‘Beneath and Beyond’ is a live self-generating sound installation produced by
ongoing tectonic shifts beneath the Earth’s surface. The piece taps into, and
continually monitors, 100 seismic stations around the world via the Internet.
The data/vibrations from these locations are translated directly into unique
sounds, and their waveforms are projected within the cinema space.

Computer programming by Robert Farrell.

This work is the culmination of an SAC Creative Scotland Award.
